What
you need to know – Terms & Conditions
HOW
TO BOOK
Contact
us directly. A deposit of $250 AUD (or local currency equivalent)
per person is required to secure your reservation. Upon receipt
of your booking a confirmation invoice will be issued with
deposit payable within 7 days. By paying a deposit you agree
that you have read and understood all the terms & conditions
of Schoolies Travel Schoolies. The balance of the fare must
be received by Schoolies Travel on the 31st July 2010. If
the balance of monies is not received by this date, cancellation
may occur without further liability to you.
CANCELLATIONS
If
you cancel your reservation, the following charges will apply:

For cancellations received more than 6 months prior to tour
departure – a charge of $250 AUD (or local currency
equivalent) per person (loss of deposit).
-
For cancellations between 3 to 6 months prior to holiday
departure - a 50% Cancellation fee will apply.
-
For cancellations within 3 months prior to holiday departure
- a 100% cancellation fee will apply.
Depending
on your reason for cancelling and provided your reasons fall
within the terms of your travel insurance policy, subject
to these terms and conditions you may be able to have these
charges refunded by your insurer. Consult your insurer for
further details.
CHANGE/AMENDMENT
OF BOOKINGS
If
after you have made a booking you wish to change your reservation
to an alternative departure date or alternative accommodation
style, an administrative fee of $50 AUD (or local currency
equivalent) per person is applicable. If you change/amend
your booking within 14 days of holiday departure date normal
cancellation charges as detailed above in our cancellations
clause will apply.
PRICES
The
prices stated are valid from 1 May 09 to 31 December 2010.
Fares are “per person” & quoted in the stipulated
currency throughout the website. They are inclusive of GST
where applicable. Fares must be paid in full prior to departure.
Schoolies Travel reserves the right to amend prices at any
time. Air taxes are subject to change, therefore the package
price may vary between time of deposit and time of final payment.
WHAT’S
INCLUDED IN OUR PRICES
Most
holidays have inclusion what is included will be clearly indicated
on you travel documents – in general the following is
included in our pricing:

All accommodation costs incurred during the stated package.
-
All airfares (ex Australia departures) (taxes subject to
fluctuation).
-
All meals as specified in our itineraries.
-
All ferry crossings and launch transfers as outlined in
our itineraries.
-
Daily entertainment and activities at the resort (where
applicable).
WHAT’S
NOT INCLUDED IN OUR PRICES
-
Personally incurred expenses such as souvenirs, telephone,
email, laundry charges, optional activities and items of
a personal nature (e.g. drinks).
-
Meals or accommodation whilst travelling to or from your
homeport to connect with your holiday.
-
Any travel cost incurred of whatever nature to or from your
homeport.
-
Any charges levied by island resorts for use of their facilities.
-
Travel Insurance.
WHAT
SHOULD YOU BRING?
A
sleeping bag is required for Dorm accommodation only. For
most of our holidays, you will need the following: towel,
water bottle, torch (flashlight), toiletries & items of
a personal nature, hat, sun screen, camera and film, insect
repellant, warm clothing.
LUGGAGE
Each
passenger is requested to limit their luggage to one small/medium
soft bag or suitcase weighing no more than 16 kilos and a
small daypack. Passengers travelling by air on a Schoolies
Travel holiday need to observe strict luggage restrictions
and keep luggage to a minimum.
MATTERS
OF DISPUTE
In
the unlikely event of any dissatisfaction with the accommodation
or any other service provided by us, you must report it immediately
to resort staff so action can be taken to remedy the problem.
Failure to notify resort staff of any problem immediately
may result in your ability to claim compensation from them
being extinguished or at least reduced. Any complaint made
to us after the holiday should be made in writing within 28
days of holiday completion. In the event you do not notify
us in writing within 28 days, this may affect the company’s
ability to investigate your complaint and may impact on the
way that your complaint is dealt with.
All
matters of dispute will be dealt with via the Queensland legal
system.
INSURANCE
We
strongly recommend passengers to take out travel insurance
to cover any unforeseen circumstances, which may arise (including
cancellation fees, medical and curtailment expenses, loss
of luggage, early departure from tour due to death or illness
etc.) Ask us or your Travel Agent for details at the time
of booking.
BOOKING
CONDITIONS
Please
read the following booking conditions carefully which outline
our obligations to you, and your responsibilities to us.
FLYER/WEBSITE
Schoolies
Travel has made every endeavor with the production of its
2010 brochure and www.SchooliesTravel.com.au to ensure its
validity. Schoolies Travel believe that the contents of this
brochure/website are correct at time of creation, however
all prices and services described herein are subject to change
or withdrawal without notice. Furthermore, by choosing to
travel with Schoolies Travel you agree that any photo/image
taken of you during your tour may be used for Schoolies Travel
promotional purposes at a later date.
CHANGES
IN ITINERARY
Schoolies
Travel reserves the right to make changes to an itinerary
if something beyond the control of Schoolies Travel deems
it necessary, including weather and cultural conditions.
PRE
AND POST TOUR TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION
Schoolies
Travel is not responsible for travel arrangements and costs
incurred in getting to the point of commencement of the holiday,
or from the point of conclusion of the holiday. All bookings
with these carriers, hoteliers or other service providers
are subject to the terms and conditions and limitations of
liability imposed by these carriers.
SCHOOLIES
TRAVEL CREW
You
agree to accept the authority of Schoolies Travel staff/Schoolies
Travel Crew and comply with their decisions. In the event
a staff member requires a passenger to leave a trip, no refund
will be given. That passenger is also responsible for their
return transportation costs and will have no claim against
Schoolies Travel.
HEALTH,
FITNESS & MEDICAL
Passengers
should be of reasonable health and fitness and carry all required
medication. Clients must inform Schoolies Travel of any pre-existing
medical problems. In certain circumstances we may request
a doctor’s certificate certifying fitness to travel.
In certain circumstances, Schoolies Travel may require that
a carer travel with a passenger who has a mental or physical
disability. Schoolies Travel reserves the right to refuse
to carry passengers who we believe may not be able to safely
undertake one of our Holidays.
BAGGAGE
Schoolies
Travel will not be held responsible for any loss or theft
of baggage or belongings. Travel insurance is strongly recommended
to cover such an event.
LIMITATIONS
OF LIABILITY
The
responsibility of Schoolies Travel and/or their agents is
limited. They act only in the capacity of agents for carriers,
hoteliers or other service providers in all matters pertaining
to accommodations, optional activities, sightseeing tours
and as such, shall not be liable for any personal injury,
death, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which
may be occasioned either by reason of any defect in any vehicle/vessel,
or through the acts of default of any company or person engaged
in conveying you or in carrying out the arrangements of the
holiday or otherwise in connection therewith.
Under
no circumstances is Schoolies Travel responsible for:
a)
Delays, personal injury, property damage or any loss resulting
from any Act of God, labour stoppages, mechanical breakdowns,
military coup, political action or participation in sport
or activities.
b) Any act of neglect of any person or company whose services
are retained by Schoolies Travel for your benefit including,
but not limited to accommodation and transportation companies.
RESPONSIBILITY
Information
featured on this web site has been supplied by the people
and organisations (Suppliers) providing the various goods
and/or services (Products). In supplying this information
to you, Schoolies Travel is acting as the agent of such Suppliers.
Irrespective of any measures taken by Schoolies Travel to
ensure the information featured on this site is accurate at
the time of publication, Schoolies Travel disclaims and will
be exempt from liability in respect of anything misleading,
false, incomplete or inaccurate and any errors, misdescription
and all associated disappointment, loss, expense, damage,
inconvenience, delay, death, shock, illness or injury, however
caused. Schoolies Travel is not the provider of services and
does not control the manner in which Products and services
featured within this site are provided.
Schoolies
Travel disclaims and will be exempt from liability for anything
to do with the supply of such Products and services. This
includes liability (whether as a matter of contract, tort,
statute, restitution, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect
or consequential loss, liability, claim, cost, expense, proceeding,
demand, penalty, disappointment, death, injury, illness, shock,
inconvenience or delay. This limitation of liability also
applies irrespective of the cause, including negligence of
us or a Supplier, withdrawal, cancellation or failure to provide
a Product, delay, any variation in the Product, the provision
of substitute Products or a change in the Supplier. Without
limitation, we will not be responsible if the Product is not
available due to inclement weather conditions or other Acts
of God, civil disturbances, fire, floods, acts of Government
or any other authorities, accident to or failure of machinery
or equipment or industrial action.
HOLIDAY
CONDITIONS
Passengers
who purchase an optional service or product do so in direct
contract with the provider and rely solely on their own judgement
for participation.
Schoolies
Travel “Schoolies Holidays” are specifically designed
for travellers within the 17-18 year age bracket. Consequently
the facilities and activities on tour are not always appropriate
for people outside this age group.
